As an initiative of Telekom, the event focused on digital innovations and success stories characterized by courage, pioneering spirit, expertise, and creativity. We were proud to participate for the second time as the official eCargobike logistics partner, utilizing our versatile eCargobikes and a fleet of XBoards.
This year, Digital X was spread across four main locations in Cologne, with local pubs and restaurants serving as information points instead of traditional exhibition stands. This decentralized structure posed significant logistical challenges, which the event agency VOK DAMS managed seamlessly thanks to our eCargobikes and XBoards. Why are cargo bikes so valuable compared to cars in cities and at urban trade shows? Here, you can find some important reasons.
Our three eCargobike models—Cargo PACK, Cargo WORK, and Cargo PICK-UP—along with the XBoards, proved to be the ideal tools for fast, emission-free goods transport. Whether it was merchandise, event technology, skydancers, water jugs, refreshments, print materials, or balls for the Telekom action, our heavy-duty eCargobikes enabled flexible and safe delivery, even in high traffic and at all times of day or night.
Shortcuts through parks, pedestrian zones, construction areas, and winding side streets posed no obstacle, allowing materials and packages to arrive on time, and beverages and water crates to be quickly delivered despite high temperatures.
XBoard with load accessory used for the first time
The XBoard, equipped with a practical front load accessory, was particularly useful and preferred for these tasks. The sturdy accessory provided enough space for beverage crates, packages, and other materials, making transport especially efficient. Its agile driving dynamics allowed it to navigate tight corners and obstacles with ease, making deliveries faster and more flexible. Additionally, driving the XBoard was not only efficient but also surprisingly fun due to its easy handling and maneuverability.
Once again, our eCargobikes and XBoards attracted significant attention at Digital X. Wherever our event team went with the vehicles, curious and enthusiastic glances from attendees followed. For the first time, the XBoard was branded with the event organizer’s logo—our branded XBoard, equipped with a handlebar designed in Telekom’s colors and logos, was a hit with everyone from staff to executives. Andreas Krause, Senior Project Manager at VOK DAMS, was once again impressed by the use of the Mubea U-Mobility fleet at Digital X 2024. Lucas and Clemens, two of the drivers who spent several days using our eCargobikes and XBoards, also praised the vehicles: “Simply great, we had a lot of fun with the eCargobikes and the XBoard, and we were able to do our job professionally. In the stress of the event, it’s a great vehicle to get quickly to the stage, etc.”. These responses show how reliable and efficient our vehicles are, even under demanding conditions.
About Digital X 2024
Approximately 50,000 attendees, over 250 speakers on 4 stages, and 300+ exhibitors were part of the event in downtown Cologne. Prominent guests included Julian Nagelsmann (German National Football Team Coach), Nico Rosberg (sustainability and VC entrepreneur – Formula 1 World Champion), Dirk Nowitzki (basketball legend), and Frank Thelen (German entrepreneur, investor, and author).
Under the motto "Ready for Impact," technological developments and megatrends—especially Connected Business, Future of Work, Security, and Sustainability & Responsibility—were explored, with a focus on the potential of our economy and the opportunities of digitalization.
